SpellSector ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our Magic: The Gathering deck building application.

Information We Collect

Data Stored Locally

SpellSector primarily stores data locally in your browser using localStorage. This includes:

  • Your deck lists and deck configurations
  • Application preferences and settings
  • Cached card data from Scryfall API to improve performance

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to sync with Google Drive.

Google Drive Integration

If you choose to sign in with Google, we request access to:

  • Create and manage files in a dedicated "spellsector" folder in your Google Drive
  • We only access files within this folder that SpellSector created

Your Google authentication tokens are stored locally in your browser and are not transmitted to our servers.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage data to help improve the application. This includes:

  • Pages visited and features used
  • Device type and browser information
  • General geographic location (country/region level)

No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.

Third-Party Services

Scryfall API

We use the Scryfall API to retrieve Magic: The Gathering card data, images, and pricing information. Your searches and card lookups are sent directly from your browser to Scryfall's servers. Please refer to Scryfall's documentation for their privacy practices.

Google Services

If you use Google Drive integration, your data is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

Data Security

Since SpellSector operates primarily as a client-side application, your deck data is stored locally on your device. We do not operate servers that store your personal deck information.

When using Google Drive sync, your data is protected by Google's security measures and your Google account credentials.

Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

  • Access: All your deck data is stored locally and can be exported at any time
  • Deletion: Clear your browser's localStorage to remove all local data, or delete files from your Google Drive
  • Portability: Export your decks in standard text formats compatible with other tools

Cookies

SpellSector uses localStorage for essential functionality. Google Analytics may set cookies to track anonymous usage data. You can disable these through your browser settings.

Children's Privacy

SpellSector is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
